Limited Dissemination Controls
Limited Dissemination Control (LDC)
Limited dissemination controls (LDC)
:
Establish additional control, secondary sharing, decontrol, and release guidance without the need to repeatedly obtain the controlling DoD office approval or authorization.
Identify the specific audience deemed to have an authorized lawful government purpose to be an authorized holder of CUI.
Are applied by exception to indicate required access restriction beyond a lawful government purpose, including those required by law, regulation, or government-wide policy.
The absence of an LDC on a document means anyone with a lawful government purpose is permitted access to the information but does not imply or authorize public release.
LDCs are annotated in the CUI designation indicator block and are not placed in the banner lines.
